NEMES aims to unite researchers in developing standardized methodologies and addressing key challenges in brain imaging research, laying the groundwork for more robust and reproducible neuroimaging research.
The format consists of a 3-day symposium featuring theoretical lectures and hands-on workshop, tailored to different levels of neuroimaging expertise.
NEMES is arranged by the Learning and Plasticity (LEaP) Lab. The LEaP Lab is based at the Department of Psychology in Göteborg, Sweden.
Our research focuses on using ultra-high resolution MRI to investigate rapid brain plasticity in response to learning and adaptation. You can read more about our research here.
Dr. Gaia Olivo is the P.I. of the LEaP Lab. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Wallenberg Academy Fellow, and docent at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Her research focus lies in using high-resolution MRI to assess rapid structural and functional brain plasticity in relation to learning in general and clinical settings. Dr. Olivo graduated in Medicine and Surgery at University of Naples "Federico II" in 2015, and obtained a doctorate in Medical Sciences from Uppsala University in 2019. She received the title of docent in Sweden in 2023, recognizing her scientific and pedagogical contributions.
